Terms of Service
Last Updated: May 4, 2026. By accessing or using Veteransition (the "Service"), including our web application and mobile apps for iOS and Android, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our Service.
1. Use of Service

You agree to use Veteransition only for lawful purposes and in ways that do not infringe upon the rights of others or restrict their use and enjoyment. You agree not to:
- Harass, abuse, or harm others.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems.
- Upload viruses, malware, or harmful code.
- Reproduce, duplicate, or copy content for commercial purposes without permission.
- Impersonate another person or entity.
- Use the Service to collect personal information about others without consent.
2. Account Responsibility
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
- All activity that occurs under your account.
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access.
- Providing accurate and truthful information during registration.
Veteransition reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or engage in prohibited conduct.
3. Service Access
Veteransition is currently offered as a free service. All features are available at no cost. We reserve the right to introduce paid subscription tiers in the future, at which time these terms will be updated accordingly. Continued use of the Service after any such update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
4. Intellectual Property and Trade Secrets
All content, features, and functionality of Veteransition (including text, graphics, logos, and software) are the exclusive property of Veteransition LLC and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. The application's source code, database schema, internal algorithms, scoring rubrics (OCP, K-Fit, AI Coach analysis criteria), curated resource catalog, calculator constants, agent prompts, and audit-pipeline tooling are the proprietary work product of Veteransition LLC and constitute trade secrets under the federal Defend Trade Secrets Act (18 U.S.C. §§1839 et seq.) and applicable state Uniform Trade Secrets Acts.
Except where the right cannot be waived under applicable mandatory law (including 17 U.S.C. §1201(f) for narrow interoperability reverse-engineering and Article 6 of EU Directive 2009/24/EC), you agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code, object code, or underlying ideas, algorithms, file formats, or protocols of the application, mobile builds, browser extension, or backend services.
- Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security, authentication, rate-limiting, license-tier enforcement, or other technological protection measures (17 U.S.C. §1201).
- Scrape, crawl, harvest, mirror, or use automated tooling, scripts, bots, or headless browsers to access the Service or extract data, content, or rate tables, except via documented APIs and within the rate limits we publish.
- Misappropriate, copy, publish, redistribute, or disclose to any third party Veteransition's trade secrets — including the curated
.govsource list, the K-Fit and OCP scoring weights, the AI Coach evaluation rubric, calculator constants, agent prompts, or internal V&V framework documents. - Use the Service or any data extracted from it to train, fine-tune, evaluate, or benchmark a competing AI model, dataset, or product.
- Remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, license, or proprietary notice.
- Sublicense, rent, lease, sell, resell, or transfer your account or your access to the Service.
Whistleblower carve-out (18 U.S.C. §1833(b)). Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit your immunity under the Defend Trade Secrets Act, which protects disclosure of a trade secret made (i) in confidence to a federal, state, or local government official or to an attorney solely for the purpose of reporting or investigating a suspected violation of law, or (ii) in a complaint or other document filed under seal in a lawsuit or other proceeding.
Survival. The obligations in this section survive termination of your account and continue for as long as the underlying material qualifies as a trade secret under applicable law.
Your Data
You retain ownership of the data you input into Veteransition (your transition plans, goals, and personal information). You grant Veteransition a non-exclusive license to use this data to provide and improve the Service.
5. Limitation of Liability
Veteransition is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
- The Service will meet your specific needs.
- All information provided is accurate or complete.
Disclaimers
Important: Veteransition is a planning and accountability tool, not a substitute for professional military transition counseling, financial advice, medical care, or legal services. See our full Disclaimer section for details on the limitations of our Service.
6. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Veteransition, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including attorney's fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
7. Termination
Veteransition may terminate or suspend your account at any time for:
- Violation of these Terms of Service.
- Illegal or fraudulent activity.
- Abuse of the free service or excessive automated usage.
- Inactivity (accounts inactive for 12 months may be deleted along with all data).
Upon termination, your access to the Service will be immediately revoked. We recommend downloading your data from Profile Settings before account deletion, as data is deleted immediately and cannot be recovered.
8. Third-Party Services
Veteransition integrates with third-party services including:
- Supabase: For secure data storage and backend infrastructure.

We are not responsible for third-party services, and your use of them is governed by their respective terms and policies.
9. AI Features
Veteransition offers optional AI-powered features that can be enabled or disabled at any time. The following terms apply:
- The Interview Coach is for educational and practice purposes only. It does not guarantee employment outcomes.
- The Salary Coach is for educational and practice purposes only. It does not guarantee salary outcomes or constitute professional financial advice.
- AI features use Google Gemini for processing. Google's terms of service apply to all AI-related processing.

10. Modifications to Terms
Veteransition reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice on the Service. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Dispute Resolution
Informal Resolution
Before initiating formal proceedings, you and Veteransition agree to attempt to resolve disputes through good-faith negotiation. You must notify us of any dispute by sending a detailed written notice to support@veteransition.com within 30 days of discovering the dispute.
Arbitration
If the dispute cannot be resolved within 60 days of the notice, you agree that any and all disputes will be resolved by binding arbitration rather than in court. The arbitration will be conducted under the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA) and will be held in a mutually agreed location or, if not agreed, in the District of Columbia. Each party will bear its own costs, with the arbitrator determining who pays the arbitration filing fees.
Exceptions
Notwithstanding the above, either party may seek injunctive or equitable relief in court for intellectual property infringement, breach of confidentiality, or unauthorized access to our systems.
12. Outfit BootCamp Module
The Outfit BootCamp module is a Veteransition LLC product feature inside the Veteransition app. It is not affiliated with any external website that uses the same name.
